A lot of beginner photographer think that they will make a career in portrait photography and luckily, most of them do. But not everyone make it big because of the reason that unlike other kinds of photography, portrait photography requires a totally different approach towards capturing the subject. It depends more on experimenting than to follow a certain sets of rules. But still, you have to have a systematic approach towards capturing a portrait in the best way possible.

1. Decide the venue

Most portrait photographer look for a scenic background while some go for a basic background. So, before deciding portrait photography, decide the theme of it so that you can find the right venue and decide whether to shoot outside or in a studio.


2. Bokeh Effect

In portrait photographer, the way to click best pictures is by creating a bokeh effect in the background. This can be don’t by soft focusing on the subject and blurring out the background.


3. Add Props

The best way to experiment is by adding pros or using different frames. There’s this famous technique in photography industry which is called frame within in frame. You can use that to enhance your portrait photography.


4. Be consistent

The only thing that will improve your photography and bring you from beginner level to a pro is consistency. Someone once said that your first 1000 photos will be the worst. So, try to beat that number as soon as possible.
